Our Play-Based
Learning Approach
At KAELC, we believe that a play-based approach to learning is one of the most common ways of babies and young children's learning and development. Play makes up a significant amount of children's learning and enhances their exploration, growth, and development. We believe in building a trusting relationship with babies, so they feel safe, secure, and supported in their learning environment.
Exploration & Discovery
At KAELC, we have a strong focus on exploration and discovery in the 1-2 area, allowing children to grow and develop as they learn through play.
Our Program Focus
The babies room program focuses on providing different opportunities to young children such as Music and Movement, Sensory Exploration, Art Experiences, Group Time, Numeracy and Literacy experiences, and Indoor and Outdoor Experiences. Our program supports the children to achieve their milestones in the developmental area of Physical well-being, Social and Emotional well-being, Cognitive Skills, and Language Skills.
We develop the curriculum around the relationships children have with their families and communities, collaborating with their parents to ensure that each child’s knowledge, ideas, culture, abilities, and interests are the foundation of our program.
Our educators will assist in ensuring that our program reflects the principles and practices of the National Early Learning Framework, The Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), with the following five learning outcomes:
